FRAUD: Online Scammers Impersonate Finance Minister?

Co-ordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, has alerted the public on the existence of numerous fake social media accounts and pages opened in her name.

“Our attention has been drawn to the existence of numerous fake Facebook Accounts and Pages created in the name of the Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Honourable Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala," read statement from her office.

“These accounts were created by unscrupulous persons with the intention of misleading and/or defrauding innocent people”.

Okonjo-Iweala listed some of the fake Facebook accounts and added that they had been reported to Facebook for appropriate action.
