Barack Obama fires back at Michael Jordan after golf diss

Last week, Michael Jordan made news for calling Barack Obama a “hack” golfer during an interview with Ahmad Rashad. When Rashad asked if Jordan wanted to really say that on television, MJ doubled down. “I never said he wasn’t a great politician, I just said he was a [expletive] golfer.”

The president was finally asked about Jordan’s dig during a recent radio interview on WJMR in Wisconsin. Obama said that Jordan “wasn’t very well informed,” explaining that he and Rashad had recently defeated Alonzo Mourning in a friendly match.

Still, POTUS had to admit that MJ was the better golfer, but not without getting in a line of his own.
“But there is no doubt that Michael is a better golfer than I am. Of course if I was playing twice a day for the last 15 years, then that might not be the case.”
That’s a good burn, even if the president gets out plenty for a high-handicapper. Obama hasplayed more than 200 rounds since entering office, which comes out to 33 per year. That’s hardly the Jordan regimen but still more than most weekend warriors.
But that was quickly forgotten, as the president saved his best MJ zing for last.
“He might want to spend more time thinking about the Bobcats — or the Hornets.”
I don’t know whether the Bobcats-to-Hornets correction was intentional or accidental, though I hope for the former. Either way, the line was a winner. Looks like Election Day wasn’t a total loss.
