$16billion Engine deal with GE777x fleet signed by the Emirate
Dubai's Emirates Airline [EMIRA.UL] on Monday said it marked a $16 billion administration contract with GE's avionics unit for motors controlling the carrier's 777x fleet.
The agreement will incorporate support, repair and update (MRO) of the GE9X motors that resolve the carrier's armada of 150 Boeing 777X airplane over a time of 12 years, it said in an announcement.
Emirates a year ago put in a record $76 billion request for 150 Boeing 777X twin-motor flying machine, controlled by GE's new GE9X motor - the main motor accessible for the 777x wide-body airplane - esteemed at $16 billion at rundown cost for 300 units.
